The PEAK, located in beautiful Butte, Montana, with a base
elevation of 5,800 feet, was started in 2003 to address the
need for increasing the efficiency of military training and
operational success in austere environments due to the dynamic
Warfighter needs with the US invasion in Iraq. Our success in
Special Forces military training, under the direction of retired
former US Air Force Pararescue CMSgt Rod Alne (27 years),
and research drew interest from civilians interested in both
adventure travel and corporate leadership development.
Today, The PEAK is proud to provide operational training,
adventure travel, and leadership development to a variety of
organizations. Additionally, The PEAK offers dynamic courses
that are tailored to each customers mission. No two courses are
ever alike, which makes The PEAK an ideal choice for any
organization, athlete, or military installment.
In addition to World-Class training and adventure, The PEAK
staff also includes both a renowned Neurosurgeon, Dr. Gus
Varnavas, and PhD level Exercise Physiologist specializing in
Environmental Physiology, Dr. Susan Borjesson, with a mission
to complete research to assist the human body in most efficiently
performing under diverse environmental stress. This includes
addressing issues related to physical training, product development,
medical monitoring and intervention, and nutritional supplementation
specific to both the individual and the environment in which they
must perform.
